Answer:
DocIntegrate a small app that runs in your task bar that acts as the communicator between the EDMS system, Patricia and opened documents.
WHERE CAN I SEE IT?
Look in your taskbar area, it should display as a small icon shown below. This is also what you can ask client to check to determine whether it is running.
PROCESS:
When you open documents often times you’ll note a message appear notifying you of the action being taken. This is DocIntegrate in action, downloading, opening and resaving to the EDMS system once we have finished our edits.
NOTES
- On new installations this needs to be manually launched by the user the first time.
- Often time users will complain documents cannot be opened or accessed and DocIntegrate not running is often times the cause. Instruct them to check whether DocIntegrate is running and if not they need to launch this themselves.
- DocIntegrate is not to be confused with DocIntegrate Outlook, the second mentioned is an Oultook plugin and has a separate function (see more in Q: What is DocIntegrate Outlook?).
- Emails that are opened are temporally stored in the following location. This is relevant only for advanced troubleshooting but still take note.
